Freemasons see themselves as builders – in a philosophical sense – who seek to shape, enlighten, and develop their personal outlook and their engagement with the world around them. The method for achieving this revolves around working on “pieces of architecture”, introspective works of personal reflection that are shared and developed communally within the Lodge. Any such piece of architecture is highly personal, and reflects its author’s sensitivity and personality.
